Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she continued to upload her music via the internet, including her self release single Bound. The 21st day of July, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes song Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her submit her tracks in the direction of his Dreamville Team later that year as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate alongside her on some of the songs. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was contracted to Dreamville Records. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat with Cozz. In the month of October she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and performed as an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. Also, she was featured on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was then followed by a short video in September. The 9th of November saw her release two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013, she released her debut album No One and Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later she released the song as a solo single on her debut album. In February 2019, her music video to this song was released. The track has garnered more than three million YouTube views within a week. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
